So let’s start with the good; I finally won some money with my best bets. 3-2 is the minimum from here on out. Bad news? The rest of my spread picks looked like the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday; they were awful. Time to bounce back.

COLTS (-1.5) Over Texans

I have to admit, this is a very tough week. There’s a ton of games that could go either way. This is one of them, but I think people in general don’t realize that the Colts actually have a defense now. I know that Houston is due for a win, but so are the Colts. Andrew Luck should continue to improve each week, and the Colts can take advantage of Houston’s awful offensive line. It’ll be close, but Indy wins this one.

Colts 23 Texans 20

Browns (+2.5) Over RAIDERS

I honestly hate this spread. I’m sure that’s encouraging to see. This feels like such a sucker bet, but every time I think I’m outsmarting Vegas, I end up losing. Cleveland is the better team, especially with Baker Mayfield now under center. Oakland has been deceptively good for three quarters in every game this year, but I’ll take the better team and the points here, even if it feels like Vegas is begging us too.

Browns 28 Raiders 20

Saints (-3.5) Over GIANTS

The Saints haven’t been a great road team with Drew Brees lately, but they shouldn’t have too much trouble handling the Giants. The weather should be fine, and the Saints are surprisingly good at stopping the run. Drew Brees could have a field day here. The Saints are a few leagues ahead of the Giants, I think they handle business fairly easily.

Saints 31 Giants 17

COWBOYS (-3.0) Over Lions

I’ll believe in Dallas for one more week, even if I shouldn’t. Detroit should be another popular pick after their win against New England on Sunday night. But Dallas has better players on defense, Dallas has the better rushing attack, and Dallas has home field advantage. Detroit is still fielding a pretty poor defense. The Cowboys should have no issue controlling the clock here.

Cowboys 27 Lions 21

Jets (+7.5) Over JAGUARS

This is one of those picks that I could immediately regret if Darnold throws a pick early. But the Jets managed to upset Jacksonville last year, and now they have a significantly better quarterback. This one will be ugly and low scoring, but I trust the Jets defense to keep Bortles in check throughout the game. Again, one or two turnovers could be the difference, but I like my chances with the extra points.
