Brian Sullivan

Just like last year, every few weeks I’ll take a look at the rest of the season and try to predict what will happen. Some of my initial predictions already look awful (Jaguars winning 9 games/ Chargers winning 10). Others are looking pretty smart (Bears and Colts only winning 4, Vikings winning 12). Here’s some updated predictions. I looked at the rest of the schedule and quickly picked each game to determine final records.

AFC Playoff Race

  1. Broncos (15-1)
  2. Patriots (12-4)
  3. Steelers (12-4)
  4. Texans (11-5)
  5. Raiders (11-5)
  6. Bengals (11-5)

The Broncos march to a 15-1 record and assert their dominance over the AFC. But this path doesn’t look easy for them. The Patriots and Steelers have the talent and experience to go into Denver and win. The Texans and Bengals have the defenses to force turnovers against a new QB. And the Raiders have all of the fire and ballsiness to make the right calls and win a close divisional game. What a fun AFC Playoff race this would be.

NFC Playoff Race

  1. Vikings (15-1)
  2. Seahawks (13-3)
  3. Falcons (12-4)
  4. Cowboys (10-6)
  5. Packers (14-2)
  6. Panthers (12-4)

Two 15-1 teams? Ok, it’s probably not happening… But look at their schedules and tell me it isn’t possible. The Vikings prove their naysayers wrong and DOMINATE the league behind their elite defense. The Seahawks also follow in their footsteps. It’ll be very tough for these other four teams to go into those environments, but they are formidable opponents. The Falcons can score with anyone, the Cowboys travel well and control the clock, and the Panthers and Packers have quarterbacks that could catch fire at any moment in a game.

Battle For Draft Picks

Current Draft Order (Based on Predictions)

1. Browns (1-15)

2. Titans (2-14)

3. 49ers (2-14)

4. Lions (3-13)

5. Bears (4-12)

Next time, I’ll go further into predicting the actual Match-Ups. Also, if you’re curious about how your team did, because they didn’t make the list, feel free to leave a comment! For now, it’s too early to really get an idea of who I can see catching fire in the Post-Season. Any team could catch fire, and any team could cool off. It should be interesting to see.
