Brian Sullivan

Championship week is upon us, so I’ll be giving spread picks for all 8 of the championship games this week. Last chance before bowl season to get that record up to .500.

Record (46-48)

Northern Illinois (+11.5) Over Bowling Green – I think Bowling Green wins the game, but NIU has kept it close with some premier competition this year. I think this game comes down to the wire.

Southern Mississippi (+7.5) Over Western Kentucky – Two explosive offenses… Two mediocre defenses… Southern Miss is actually more balanced, I think they keep it within 7.

Temple (+6.5) Over Houston – Again, I think Houston wins the game, but Temple is too good defensively to not keep this game close.

Alabama (-17.0) Over Florida – Even I’m a bit baffled by this large spread… Something isn’t right… But I’ll go with it. Alabama could easily shut out Florida.

San Diego State (-6.5) Over Air Force – San Diego State is hot… And they don’t turn the ball over very often. Two very tough defenses, but I’ll take the offense that doesn’t make mistakes.

Stanford (-4.5) Over USC – Stanford is just too good defensively for USC. Also, the offense has so many weapons, and is clicking on all cylinders.

Clemson (-5.0) Over UNC – UNC can not stop the run… Simple as that. Clemson will be running everything from standard power runs, zone reads, options, draws, you name it. Then, watch out for the play action.

Michigan State (-3.5) Over Iowa – I just don’t believe in Iowa… I think they’re good… but not Michigan State good.
