It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Football, Hockey, Basketball… Everything is going on.

The Tip-Off Marathon is one of my favorite events on TV, so let’s do some spread picks to make things more interesting.

Brian (6-4)

Denzel

Rhode Island (-1.5) Over Valparaiso – An underrated game between two exciting sleepers… But defense wins big games, and I like the way Rhode Island defends.

Dayton (-9.5) Over Alabama – Weird to think of Bama as a scrub team in any sport… But Avery Bradley’s squad is low on talent. Dayton is a well-oiled machine that should handle Bama just fine. Now football on the other hand…

Colorado (+1.5) Over Auburn – I like this Colorado team… They played Iowa State tight on opening night, and now they head to Auburn. I think they bounce back with a win here.

Oklahoma (-4.5) Over Memphis – I don’t expect a lot from Memphis this year… So I’ll take Buddy and the crew against Memphis, in a statement game for Oklahoma.

Penn State (-4.5) Over Depaul – Penn State is not a great basketball school… However, they usually play relatively well outside of the Big 10. They should handle Depaul.

Notre Dame (-13.0) Over Milwaukee – Notre Dame can shoot the lights out… Against a team like Milwaukee, they should light it up.

Kentucky (-2.5) Over Duke – Both teams have a lot of turnover, but I’ll take the team with more raw talent in Kentucky.

Murray State (-2.5) Over Middle Tennessee – Murray State is always a fun cinderella team. Middle Tennessee… not so much. Murray state builds off of last season with a nice win at home.

Villanova (-17.0) Over Nebraska – As far as I know, Nebraska is terrible this year. They’ll need to beat this spread to prove me wrong.

Maryland (-8.0) Over Georgetown – Georgetown lost to Radford… Maryland isn’t exactly a great place to go to bounce back…

Michigan State (+6.0) Over Kansas – Michigan State lost a lot of talent, but they are always a well coached, defensive team. This game should go down to the wire.
