Carson

Brian Sullivan

It’s time to expand our horizons a bit, so from now on you can find some fantasy advice right here as well as our picks. There’s no results as of now, but let’s see how this goes.

Quarterbacks – Start ‘Em

Carson Palmer (Cardinals) – Carson Palmer has been on a tear lately, only last week, he didn’t manage to get in the end zone much. Expect that to change this week, at home, against a terrible Ravens secondary.

Eli Manning (Giants) – The Cowboys defense is decent, but Eli should have plenty of opportunities, especially to bounce back after a terrible showing last week.

Philip Rivers (Chargers) – Rivers has been on fire lately, ride him while he’s hot.

Ryan Tannehill (Dolphins) – He looked solid last week, and the Texans are terrible… In Miami, expect him to have a nice game.

Sleepers – Landry Jones (Steelers), E.J. Manuel (Bills)

Quarterbacks – Sit ‘Em

Josh McCown (Browns) – It’s been fun to watch McCown as of late, but in St. Louis, against a well rested Rams team? Don’t expect too much.

Teddy Bridgewater (Vikings) – If you haven’t already, start sitting him.

Matthew Stafford (Lions) – He was awesome last week, but that should change here. He looked terrible against Minnesota in Week 2, I expect more of the same here.

Potential Bust – Tom Brady (Patriots) – If you have somebody like Palmer or Rivers on your bench, maybe swap them out. The Jets usually manage to fluster Brady. But don’t bench him for a scrub.

Running Backs – Start ‘Em

Mark Ingram (Saints) – This should be a high scoring game, start just about everybody.

Frank Gore (Colts) – Refer to Mark Ingram.

Todd Gurley (Rams) – The Browns are awful at stopping the run, so Gurley should feast.

Alfred Morris (Buccaneers) – Assuming Matt Jones is still out, Morris should get a bulk of the carries against a weak Bucs team.

Latavius Murray (Raiders) – The Chargers don’t stop the run very well, so Murray is a solid start here.

Sleepers – Danny Woodhead (Chargers), Theo Riddick (Lions), David Johnson (Cardinals)

Running Backs – Sit ‘Em

LaGarrette Blount (Patriots) – The Jets have a ferocious front 7, including a relatively fresh Sheldon Richardson, so Blount should stay away.

Ameer Abdullah (Lions) – Abdullah has a ton of talent, but the Lions can’t block anybody, and the Vikings are strong against the run. Avoid him here.

Jonathan Stewart (Panthers) – He’s looked very nice as of late, but the Eagles defense has been great as of late. Avoid him.

Melvin Gordon (Chargers) – Keep him on the bench for now, period.

Potential Bust – Demarco Murray (Eagles) – The Panthers ALSO host a formidable front 7, so he may cool down here.

Wide Receivers – Start ‘Em

Every Cardinals Receiver – Fitz? John Brown? Michael Floyd? Start them, the Cardinals are dropping 45 on the Ravens.

Martavis Bryant (Steelers) – I was wrong about Bryant, the dude is a monster. And with Marcus Peters likely taking on Antonio Brown, there will be plenty of opportunities for Bryant.

Eric Decker (Jets) – With Malcolm Butler likely handling Brandon Marshall, this could be a game for Decker to shine in.

Sleepers – Willie Snead (Saints), Jamison Crowder (Redskins), Robert Woods (Bills), Stefon Diggs (Vikings)

Wide Receivers – Sit ‘Em

Amari Cooper (Raiders) – Jason Verrett is coming off of back to back weeks of shutting down Antonio Brown and Randall Cobb. I expect no less from him against Cooper.

Jordan Matthews (Eagles) – Josh Norman is the best CB in football right now, it’s tough to trust Matthews against him.

Calvin Johnson (Lions) – What? Bench Calvin? Are you serious? Yes, the Vikings will likely focus their attention on him. Harrison Smith and Xavier Rhodes all over him all game? Stafford might look to his TEs, RBs, or Tate more often.

Potential Bust – Keenan Allen (Chargers) – He’s banged up, and he’s coming off of a huge game, which means he’s due for a let down, even if he plays.

Tight Ends – Start ‘Em

Travis Kelce (Chiefs) – The Steelers can’t stop the tight end, simple as that.

Antonio Gates (Chargers) – Like Rivers, play him while he’s hot.

Zach Ertz (Eagles) – Since Matthews will be locked down, look for Bradford to go to his security blanket a little more.

Eric Ebron (Lions) – Look at what I said about Calvin Johnson.

Tight Ends – Sit ‘Em

Gary Barnidge (Browns) – Like McCown, expect a cool down week for the red hot Barnidge.

Heath Miller (Steelers) – They just haven’t been looking his way as of late, I expect a lot more outside looks.

Defenses – Start ‘Em

Dolphins (Vs. Texans) – Against the Texans? Expect points.

Rams (Vs. Browns) – They’re at home, coming off the bye, this should be easy money.

Sleeper – Redskins (Vs. Buccaneers) – Jameis is prone to turnovers, and the Redskins are actually a decent defense. They could be a sneaky play here.

Defenses – Sit ‘Em

Jets (At Patriots) – Strong defense, but don’t start a defense against Tom Brady… Ever.

Ravens (At Cardinals) – If you still have the Baltimore defense, just drop it… Or at least get a backup.
